Advice for ESL students

If you don’t try, you won’t progress.

Learn more about this instructor:

Hometown: Chattanooga, Tennessee

Areas of expertise: I help students develop their speaking and social skills through conversational English and debate. I also teach the writing skills necessary for students to succeed in academic essay writing.

Favorite place on campus: The UTC Library is beautiful and quiet, and the fourth floor has a great view of campus. If you like coffee, it also has a Starbucks!

Favorite thing about UTC: The university is in a great location near downtown Chattanooga. If you live on campus, it’s easy to walk to downtown and explore the area. It’s also a safe and clean university with a long history.

Interesting facts: I lived in South Korea for almost 10 years, teaching English to non-native speakers. I met my husband in South Korea, and my son was born there as well.
