“The scholarship did take a big chunk out of tuition. I’m an older student, so I had to work. There were some aspects of the TLC course that were beneficial- having faculty mentors was a good thing. I wanted to explore the career field because as a student, you don’t really get your hands dirty or make connections; I always thought that would be a good thing- to meet people in the field, explore - Civil is broad, and we think we know what we want to do but don’t know the opportunities.”
