Bachelor of Applied Science: Information Technology in Cybersecurity
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is now offering a transformative, accelerated Bachelor of Applied Science degree program in Information Technology in Cybersecurity (BAS-IT CyS) starting Spring 2023. The program is intended for individuals who have completed the UTC General Education requirements and BAS-IT program pre-requisites and:
- Have completed an Associate of Science (AS).
- Are transferring from a 4-year institution.
- Are working individuals with a bachelors or associates degree seeking to transition their careers to the IT field.
- Are changing majors.
This innovative, accelerated program is designed to maximize student learning opportunities in workplace settings through internship experiences throughout the program and intends to quickly move students to the workplace. Full-time students meeting the pre-enrollment requirements will finish the program in a year with six terms of intense year-round learning. Scholarships and supplementary stipends are available for enrolled students.

Once logged in, select the blue button that says, "Other Applications" and you will see the option to select "BAS-IT Cybersecurity Program Application" from that drop down.
Academic Requirements
Prerequisites to Enroll in the Program: Completion of a minimum of 60 credit hours including general education and basic science (minimum of two science courses) and math courses including college level statistic and a minimum of pre-calculus MATH 1720 or MATH 1730. Our common goal is to address the need for technical skills in IT and Cybersecurity in our local industry and keep the talent in the greater Chattanooga area to attract more employers and jobs.
