Academic and Career Advising
Overview of Departmental Academic and Career-Related Advising
Psychology majors are required to meet with an advisor each semester. Meetings with advisors in the Psychology Department are made by appointment. You can use any faculty member you want as an advisor. Just call or email the faculty member to schedule an appointment or call Judy Gallagher in the Psychology Office at 423-425-4262 and she will deliver a message as necessary.
All Psychology majors are assigned a professional advisor within our College’s Student Success Center. For more information and/or questions, please visit https://www.utc.edu/arts-and-sciences/hub or email [email protected]. Psychology course override requests may be submitted via the instructions for Psychology outlined here: https://www.utc.edu/enrollment-management-and-student-affairs/advisement/advising-resources/course-overrides
Be sure to bring a copy of your MYMOCSDEGREE sheet to your advisement appointment. An important concern will always be that you understand why you are taking particular courses. An advisor can look at your proposed schedule and confirm that it meets the degree requirements listed on your MYMOCSDEGREE sheet.
We look forward to helping you earn your degree at UTC!
