Classroom Observation
UTC media
Staff from the Walker Center for Teaching and Learning are available for instructional observation to provide you with feedback about your teaching.
Want an Outside Opinion? Try a Small Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID)
Small-Group Instructional Diagnosis (SGID) is a process that elicits consensus from the students about how a class is progressing. Staff from the WCTL have students break up into small groups to discuss the course as a whole. The professor leaves the classroom to allow students to give full disclosure and honesty about the course.
Classroom Observation/Peer Evaluation
Arrangements can be made for a staff member from the WCTL to observe a class as you teach. Staff attend the class and observe presentation styles and lecture skills. Feedback from the observation is discussed in a confidential follow-up meeting.
