Student Engagement & Satisfaction
NSSE - National Survey of Student Engagement
The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) collects information from samples of first-year and senior students at over 600 universities across America. It is administered at UTC and other Tennessee universities at least twice during each five-year Quality Assurance Funding cycle. Results enable each institution to compare the extent to which its students are actively engaged in various aspects of their undergraduate education with those students at peer institutions within the Southeast and across the U.S. Overall comparisons with peer institutions are used as one of the criteria for additional revenue awarded under Tennessee Quality Assurance Funding. Results are also broken out by college, school, and department and distributed to faculty for use in the annual assessment and improvement cycle as well as in five-year academic program reviews. Presented below are summary results from the last five NSSE administrations. Learn more about the NSSE survey →
