- UT Day on the Hill
-
Center for Urban Informatics Director Mina Sartipi, and graduate students Peter Way and Jose Stovall, recently presented research at UT Day on the Hill.
This event is hosted by the University of Tennessee and was created to showcase UT’s impact on the state of Tennessee to our legislators. This year’s theme is “Research Changing Lives.” CUIP members met and discussed their smart city research with Tennessee State Representatives Robin Smith and Esther Helton.
Pete presented research uses historical 911 data to map Hamilton County accidents, and Jose presented CUIP’s MLK Smart Corridor, a 1.2 mile-long urban testbed in downtown Chattanooga outfitted with different types of data capturing devices—audio, video and air quality.
