Proxy Borrowing for Faculty
Proxy Borrowing for Faculty
Faculty members may authorize specific users to check out items on the faculty member's Library account. To do so, please fill out the authorization form on this page. Once received, Library staff will process the information and email the faculty member directly to confirm the authorization. The faculty member's emailed confirmation declares that he/she agrees to take financial responsibility for any lost or damaged materials checked out to his/her account by the authorized user.
Borrower Responsibilities
- You are responsible for all items checked out in your name by a proxy borrower.
- All items that are returned late are subject to fines and/or processing fees.
- Cardholders are responsible for any fines or accrued charges on their accounts.
- Borrowing privileges will be suspended for outstanding fines of $15.00 or more.
- Fines may be paid with Scrappy Cash at the Check Out Desk or at the UTC Bursar’s Office (in-person or online).
- Note the time or date your borrowed materials are due. Overdue notices are sent as a courtesy, but it always is your responsibility to return materials on time.
- The library uses university email accounts for notification of available materials, overdue notices, and late fees. It is the borrower's responsibility to forward mail from these accounts to commercial email accounts if they are used. Lack of mail delivery does not excuse the borrower from responding to any notices.
- If you receive an overdue notice for materials that you believe you returned, please reply to the notice so library staff have all the information necessary to investigate.
- Report lost items promptly.
- Abuse of library privileges may result in the loss of said privileges. Examples of abuse include, but are not limited to, repeatedly not returning materials on time, not paying fines or fees, and damage of library materials or facilities.
