UTC Library provides a variety of service points for computer and software use in the building. The information below is specific to our open, common use areas.
We also have specialized rooms and spaces to meet unique technology needs that you may reserve.

There are Windows and Mac desktops computers in the second floor Information Commons. To use a computer, please visit the first floor Check Out Desk to check out a mouse and keyboard.

The Studio has 8 Windows and 8 Macs available for walk-in use. All of the Studio computers have specialized design software for creative project work. Additionally, there are digitization stations, an audio suite and other specialized equipment for use. A service desk is staffed every hour the Studio is open.

Specialty Machines
The Studio has several computers for specific projects. Each has a yellow flag on its monitor explaining what they do. They are:
- 4K/ CAD Workstations: have extra processing power and beefed up graphics for more intense projects.
- Digitization Workstations: include peripherals for digitizing analog audio, video, and images.
- Audio Editing Workstations: include Ableton, Native Instruments Maschine, and Logic (Mac only). Two of these workstations are in the main Studio and one is in the Audio Suite.

UTC Library offers Dell Latitude laptops for up to 3 hours in the library. These are available at the 1st floor Check Out Desk for current UTC students, faculty, and staff with a valid MOCS card. Other equipment (including laptops) may be available for check out for longer periods.

There are several Quick Look Up computers providing limited internet access and printing capabilities on the first and second floor of the library.
Important Notice about Saving Files
We do not store patron files on our desktops or laptops. Patron files inadvertently saved to library computers will disappear upon logging off. Library users have the following options for saving files: UTC MocsNet account, USB flash storage device, or a personal email account (mail an attachment to yourself).
