Substance Use Screening
How can you tell if you or someone you know has a problem?
Answering the following four questions can help you determine if your substance use is becoming problematic:
• Have you ever felt you should cut down on your drinking or drug use?
• Have people annoyed you by criticizing your drinking or drug use?
• Have you ever felt bad or guilty about your drinking or drug use?
• Have you ever had a drink or used drugs first thing in the morning to steady your nerves or to get rid of a hangover?
Two or more "yes" answers suggests a possible substance use issue, but is not a diagnosis of substance use disorder. Consider digging deeper with the eCheckup screening below, by making an appointment with University Health Services, or attending a Mocs Recovery meeting.
