Visiting (Transient) Application Checklist and Requirements
Visiting (Transient) Students
Students enrolled in another college or university who wish to take courses at UTC. A student must send a "letter of good standing" from the registrar of his or her present institution to the Undergraduate Admissions office. This student type is not eligible for financial aid.
Visiting (Transient) students must submit the following to complete their files:
- Admissions Application
- $30 Application Fee
- Letter of good standing

Audit Students
Adults who wish to attend undergraduate classes without earning credit or receiving grades may register as auditors only if the space is available in the class desired and if the instructor approves the registration. This student type is not eligible for financial aid.
Tennessee residents who are at least 60 years of age may audit classes on a space available basis without paying a fee. Similar arrangements are available for Tennessee residents who are totally disabled. Tennessee residents who are 65 years of age or older and persons totally disabled who meet admission requirements may enroll for credit for a fee of $7.00 per semester hour to a maximum of $70 per semester.

Non-Degree Students
If you have not attended UTC previously and are not interested in pursuing a degree but would like to take an undergraduate course for professional reasons or personal interests, you should apply as a Non-Degree Student. This student type is not eligible for financial aid.
Non-Degree students must submit the following information to complete their files:
- Admissions Application
- $30 Application Fee
- Proof of high school graduation
If you have a baccalaureate degree from UTC or another college or university and are not interested in pursuing a degree but would like to take additional undergraduate courses for professional reasons, you should apply as a Post-Bac Non-Degree Student. This student type is not eligible for financial aid.
Post-Bac Non-Degree students must submit the following information to complete their files:
- Admissions Application
- $30 Application Fee
- Proof of undergraduate degree
