Squoia Holmes, Assistant Director for Veteran Student Services has been employed at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, working with student veterans and their family members for 9 years. Holds a Master’s in Professional Studies, Strategic Leadership from Austin Peay State University. Bachelors in University Studies, Business Administration from University of Tennessee-Martin. Associates in Business, Executive Office Administration from Grand Rapids Community College. Squoia is devoted to being an advocate to and for veterans by promoting veteran student success through advocacy, support, and strategic initiatives. Squoia's community involvement includes being a Regional Board and Education Committee member for the National Association of Veterans’ Program Administrators, Military Friendly Schools Council member, serving on the State of Tennessee Veterans’ Prior Learning Assessment Committee, and Southeast Tennessee Veterans’ Coalition. Her campus involvement includes Student Veterans’ Success training committee, Advisors Council, and Co-chairing Military Student Advisory Council. In her previous role as the Assistant Registrar in UTC Records Office, she founded the Center for Military and Veterans Affairs (CMVA); and in 2018, CMVA merged with Veteran Student Services, Dean of Students to become one dedicated office and team to support military and veteran students, keeping the name Veteran Student Services.
