In addition to the Biosketch and Current and Pending Support form (See SciENcv Resources tab below) and the Collaborators and Other Affiliations Excel form, NSF requires the following personnel documents at the time of proposal submission:
- Synergistic Activities – A description of up to 5 synergistic activities has been removed from the biosketch form and must now be provided as a separate PDF upload in the personnel document section of research.gov. View the NSF instructions here. ORSP has developed a template for your convenience. NSF font and margin requirements apply.
- Personnel Required Assurance - Individuals who are party to a malign foreign talent recruitment program are no longer eligible to participate in any role on NSF-funded projects. Participation in programming sponsored by a non-maligned foreign government is allowable but must continue to be disclosed in the biosketch and/or CPS forms. To ensure all proposals submitted to NSF are compliant with this requirement, ORSP is requiring all named personnel (regardless of their role on the project) sign the Personnel Required Assurance form below. The requirement extends to any named subaward personnel and consultant.

- Supporting a Safe and Harassment-Free Research Environment
NSF-supported conferences, travel awards, and projects involving off-campus research are subject to additional award terms that require a written plan to ensure a safe and harassment-free research environment for all participants. At the Just-In-Time stage and, if funded, with each progress report, all Senior/Key Personnel must complete and submit an Other Support form that discloses all other active and pending research endeavors (excluding the proposal for which the JIT is issued). The activity must be disclosed regardless of whether it has monetary value and regardless of whether it is based at UTC. All resources and financial support received from foreign entities must be disclosed. NIH does not require non-research activities, training awards, prizes, or gifts to be disclosed. Review NIH's updated Other Support resources here for detailed instructions, FAQs, and sample Other Support format pages. A helpful spreadsheet detailing all disclosure requirements pertaining to NSPM-33 at the pre- and post-award stages can be found at the bottom of the webpage here.
Effective October 1, 2025, all NIH-funded researchers are required to have completed the UTC Research Security training in K@TE within 12 months of the proposal deadline and award intake date.
