I am a UC Foundation Tenured Associate Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). I am the recipient of the Outstanding Tenured/Tenure-Track Faculty Teaching Computer Science and Engineering Award (2017), the Faculty/Teacher of the Year Award, Computer Science and Engineering (2017), the Outstanding Researcher, Computer Science and Engineering Award (2016) and the UC Foundation Professorship (2014).

My research work strongly relies on providing well-designed schemes, techniques, algorithms, and solutions to solve problems and improve the performance of computer networks as well as providing secure transactions and communications among network’s users by eliminating and mitigating malicious attacks. My research interests and experience span a wide range of topics in wireless ad-hoc network from stationary wireless networks to mobile ad-hoc networks.

I founded the Network Communication Laboratory (NCL) at UTC in 2012. The lab leverage expertise on smart communications to support real-time communications in wired and wireless networks. The lab focuses on research in urban science, public safety, smart networking design, smart vehicle networks, smart communications, cybersecurity and Software-Defined Networks.

Before joining the University of Tennessee, I worked in research and teaching as I granted a Research and Teaching Assistantship from the Department of Computer Science in North Dakota State University. Through my Ph.D. I conducted research with Dr. Kendall Nygard (Major advisor) and Dr. Weiyi (Max) Zhang (Co-advisor) in Wireless Networks, Wireless Mesh Networks, Interference aware Channel Assignment and Survivability as well as Security and Privacy in Wireless Networks.

In 2005 I received my M.S. degree in Computer Science, from the University of Jordan in JORDAN. I received my B.S. degree in Computer Science from the Hashemite University in JORDAN in 2002.
