Grant Aid
What is SSS Grant Aid?
Grant Aid is an additional financial award only for SSS participants. Grant Aid, unlike a loan, does not not have to be repaid. You are eligible for Grant Aid if you meet the following requirements.
-
Must be a first or second year student or an upper division student experiencing financial hardship;
- Must be active in the program for at least one semester;
-
Must have a Pell Grant as part of your financial aid packet;
-
Must have a grade point average of 2.30 or better;
-
Must complete at least one SSS financial education program yearly; and
-
Must have unmet financial need that is documented on your UTC financial aid award notification.
How Do I Apply?
You complete an application to request Grant Aid for the fall and spring semesters. Applications are available in our office and on Blackboard a month before the start of each semester. You can receive Grant Aid each semester as long as all the above criteria are met.
