About our Office

The Office of Study Abroad is part of the Center for Global Education (CGE) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Together with the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) and the Institute for English Language Learning (IELL), CGE fosters a globally connected campus by supporting international education, cultural exchange, and cross-cultural engagement.

UTC's Office of Study Abroad empowers students to expand their perspectives through meaningful international experiences. We believe that global learning fosters personal growth, academic success, and the skills needed to thrive in an interconnected world. Our mission is to make study abroad accessible, inclusive, and transformative by supporting students every step of the way—from exploring programs and securing funding to preparing for departure and reflecting on their experiences. Whether for a few weeks or a full academic year, we help Mocs discover the world while gaining the confidence, cultural awareness, and global competencies that last a lifetime.
