IGNITE - Freshmen Employment
The IGNITE program provides first-semester Freshmen with an experiential learning opportunity through a paid employment position with UTC Campus Recreation. IGNITE is a great opportunity for first-year students to create friendships, build hard and soft skills, and become future leaders in our community. The program starts during the Fall semester and provides an on-campus employment opportunity to assist first-year students in developing and strengthening their career readiness and occupational wellbeing.

- Fitness Floor Attendant - Fitness
- Intramural Assistant - Intramurals
- Customer Service Representative - Facilities
- Graphic Designer - Marketing
- Student Office Assistant - Member Services
IGNITE Program Requirements:
- Current UTC degree-seeking student with freshman class standing (defined as having fewer than 30 completed college credits)
- Minimum enrollment of 6 undergraduate credits per semester
- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- Positive attitude
- Successfully complete a background check
- Must be available to attend all mandatory training sessions. See below for dates and times.
If you are hired into the IGNITE program, you will be required to attend training and career development sessions on Fridays from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. during the Fall and Spring semesters. Participants are paid their hourly rate to attend each of these training sessions. Attendance and participation are mandatory for each date. Please see the agenda below for details.
