THE MISSION CONTINUES at the first university-based Challenger STEM Learning Center, launched in 1994 to carry on a forward-looking legacy rooted in curiosity, collaboration, innovation, and perseverance. We strive to cultivate tomorrow’s creative problem solvers through meaningful learning experiences, interactive adventures, and team-building exercises for a wide range of grade levels and age groups.
The 2025-26 school year will be an exciting time for the Challenger STEM Learning Center as we prepare to launch new programming, host community events, and provide an amazing summer camp experience! Ready for a Saturday morning filled with rockets, robots, and hands-on creativity? The UTC Challenger STEM Learning Center is hosting a huge family and community learning day, and you're invited!
We’ve gathered some of the best partners in the Tennessee Valley to bring science, technology, engineering, arts, and math to life.
The Highlights:
- 🚀 Rocket Science: Hang out with the Rocket Mocs!
- 🧪 Chemistry Fun: Interactive experiments with UTC Chemistry.
- 🎨 Art & Creativity: Get hands-on with the Arts-based collaborative and Arts Build.
- 🔭 Stargazing & More: Meet experts from the Clarence T. Jones Observatory.
- 🚂 History & Power: Explore with TVA and the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.

Why Challenger Camp is a Summer Must:
- Daily Excursions: We don't just stay in the lab! Campers visit the Chattanooga Zoo, UTC Aquatic Center (ARC), and the Clarence Jones Observatory—all tickets are included! 🦁🔭
- Hands-On STEM: Rocket launches on Chamberlain Field, coding, and robotics. 🤖🚀
- Camps 1 & 2 (July 6–17): Earth Science, Chemistry, Biology, and Geology. 🌿
- Camps 3 & 4 (July 20–31): Physics, Astronomy, Robotics, and Technology. 🌌
The Details:
- Who: Rising 3rd through 6th graders.
- Cost: $290.50 per week (all-inclusive).
- Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Extended care available!).
- Flexibility: Email us for sibling arrangements or age-range questions!
