M.S. Degree in Mathematics

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Department of Mathematics offers a Master of Science Degree in Mathematics with concentrations in four areas:

Degree Requirements include:

• 9 hours core math courses
• 12 hours from one of the above concentrations
• 6 hours of internship or area of application
• Math course electives to complete 36 hours

Each student in the M.S. program will work closely with a faculty advisor in writing a research paper or thesis in an area of interest to the student.

Students completing the program will be provided with and in-depth understanding in their chosen are, further preparing them for work in industry, government, education and further graduate studies.
