Program Requirements

The MAcc program requires a student to complete 30 semester credit hours in graduate coursework as outlined below. Foundation courses are not included in this 30-hour requirement. 

In order to qualify for a Certified Public Accounting license in Tennessee, students also need 24 hours of general business courses such as: algebra, calculus, statistics, probability, business communication, business law, economics, ethics, finance, management, technology/information systems, and marketing.

*Students must complete principles of accounting before enrolling.

Executive concentration pre-requisite

Executive Concentration:

Students admitted in this program who lack foundation courses in accounting must take a principles of accounting sequence (ACC 2010 and ACC 2020 OR ACC 5855) or their equivalent to gain needed competencies. Foundation course(s) are not included in this 30-hour requirement. Students admitted without a prior principles of accounting sequence will take ACC 5855 in their first semester.
