Costs
- How much does the program cost?
$2,995 includes course textbooks, CCMA certification exam fee and one set of navy scrubs.
- Does the program have to be paid in full when I register?
Yes. If you cannot pay out of pocket, we strongly recommend taking advantage of financial aid.
- Is financial aid available?
Yes! Choose from the following options:
Sallie Mae Loan: The Sallie Mae Loan is a short-term, low-interest student loan. The online application only takes 15 minutes to determine approval. If needed, you may have a cosigner. Learn more about Sallie Mae Loans →
Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA): WIOA funding covers the entire cost of the Academy program for individuals who qualify. If interested, you will need to reach out to the closest WIOA coordinator to meet and determine eligibility. Learn more about WIOA →

- Do I have to fill out a FAFSA?
FAFSA is not required for the program.

- How will I receive my materials?
Your scrubs will be shipped to you. You will receive the rest of your materials on the first night of class.

- How do I register?
You can register on our website or by calling 423-425-4344.
- Is enrollment into UTC required?
No.
Format
- What is the program format?
The course is hybrid, meaning some class sessions will be online while others will be face-to-face. You can see a full schedule listing which sessions are online and which are face-to-face here.
- How does the online portion of the program work?
You will have assignments you must complete each week prior to the start of the next round of assignments. The syllabus will outline what assignments are due and when assignments are due by. You do not have to be logged on for live instruction at anytime.
Certification Exam
- When do I sit for the certification exam?
You will take the exam on the last night of class.
- How do I register for the exam?
Your program coordinator will submit your documentation to NHA for approval. Then, you will receive an automated email from NHA asking you to create an NHA account. Once your account is created, you will register for the CCMA exam, choose the UTC exam date and complete registration.
- Where will I take the exam?
You will take the exam on campus in our computer lab.
Job Placement
- Does UTC assist with job placement?
Job placement assistance is available upon request during and after the program, and this benefit is at no extra cost to you!
We work with multiple employer partners as well as staffing companies who are proactively looking to hire our graduates.
A job board is also available to students, where a variety of opportunities are available.

Meeting Days and Times
The Summer 2024 Course is full. The only difference between the two fall courses is their schedule. One meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, while the other meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Student Tuition
$2,995 includes course textbooks, CCMA certification exam fee and one set of navy scrubs.
FAFSA is not eligible for this course. Students do not need to be officially admitted to the university to enroll. Payment is due in full upon registering for the course.
Registration Deadline
Fall 2024 Course 2 Registration Deadline: July 22
Fall 2024 Course 1 Registration Deadline: July 23
Registration must be completed two weeks before the class begins.
