Any COVID-19 symptoms or exposure should be reported through the COVID-19 Notification Form. You may also call University Health Services at 423-425-2266 to discuss your situation and schedule an appointment. Please do not return to the testing center; it is for move-in testing only.

The testing used for this testing event is the Abbott BinaxNOW Rapid Antigen Test. It is a test collected using a nasal swab.

You will be allowed to swab yourself for your initial test under the direction and guidance of a test center worker.

Results take 15 minutes. You should expect to either receive an email notification or a call from the testing center up to one hour of your test collection. If you have not been notified of your test results via email after 1 hour, please call 423-486-2936 for further instructions.

Depending on your circumstances, you may need additional testing to confirm a COVID-positive test. If it is determined that you are COVID-positive, you will receive information from the testing center regarding your results and will be contacted by UTC Contact Tracing shortly after to determine next steps. Temporary isolation housing will be available for you to move into should you choose to isolate on campus. More information will be provided to you regarding this option if you test positive.

A red mark on the Move-In questionnaire indicated a clinical review of your information by the clinical lead at the testing site. It may require additional questions to help determine next steps related to your circumstances. If you were given a red mark on your Move In Questionnaire, you will likely be directed to speak with the clinical lead and wait 15 minutes for your test results to determine if further action is necessary.

Test results are stored in a secure database with limited personnel from the COVID-19 Campus Support Team able to access it. Data regarding positive COVID-19 cases must be submitted to local and state health departments based on reporting requirements.

Questions related to this process may be sent to routinetesting@utc.edu or asked at the testing  site on the day of testing. In addition, questions may be directed to UTC Housing and Residence  Life at housing@utc.edu. Other questions may be directed to  sos@utc.edu.
