Praxis Information
You can apply for Apprentice/Student Teaching, but you cannot register or receive a placement until you have provided documentation that you have passed all required Praxis exams for your licensure (see below). Scores must be received by UTC by the dates listed below in order to be allowed to register for Clinical Practice. Need PRAXIS material to study? Official scores must be received by July 15 for Fall Semester Residency II (SOE) and Student Teaching (Non-SOE) and November 30 for Spring Semester Residency II (SOE) and Student Teaching (Non-SOE).
Praxis scores are valid for five years.
(if test was taken prior to 7/1/2017, the passing score is 155) and the applicable content exam.
The EdTPA is required.

All Six Praxis II Tests must be passed and scores submitted to the School of Education office before student can begin student teaching. For student teaching in the fall, all scores must be received by July 15th. If you are student teaching in the spring, all scores must be received by November 30th . Test dates fill up months in advance. Please schedule accordingly.
