Thank you for your commitment to supporting the B-HIP (Behavioral Healthcare through Interprofessional Training) Traineeship Program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. This program is designed to provide advanced training in behavioral health service delivery, with a strong emphasis on serving rural and underserved communities.
As a supervisor, your role is essential in shaping the growth, confidence, and professional readiness of future mental health professionals. Your mentorship and guidance help ensure that students gain the skills and insight needed to make a lasting impact in the communities they serve.
- Supervisor Responsibilities:
- As a B-HIP Traineeship Supervisor, you agree to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Support your intern in developing a comprehensive career plan.
- Participate in recruitment and retention efforts to strengthen the rural behavioral health workforce.
- Attend quarterly training meetings, including a culminating 1-day conference (a second, optional day is also available).
- Complete student performance evaluations and submit required grant-related data.
- Collaborate with the B-HIP team and your school or agency to support participation in the School of Professional Studies Career Fair, held each spring. This event provides a key opportunity to connect with students seeking internship placements and to promote employment opportunities in rural areas. More information about the Career Fair is provided below.
- As a B-HIP Traineeship Supervisor, you agree to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Stipend and Payment Schedule
- In addition to the educational and professional development opportunities offered through B-HIP, supervisors will receive a stipend for their participation. The stipend is distributed in installments, with the final payment issued upon the completion of all grant-related responsibilities.
- To receive payment, supervisors must sign a participation agreement outlining the expectations above and complete all required documentation with the UTC Finance Office.
