Mission Statement
The Behavioral Healthcare through InterProfessional Training (B-HIP) program at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is dedicated to expanding and strengthening the behavioral health workforce in the underserved Appalachian region of southeast Tennessee. Through deep collaboration with community partners and interprofessional training across School Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and Social Work, B-HIP prepares a diverse, skilled workforce to meet the urgent mental health needs of children, adolescents, and young adults. Our mission is to deliver sustainable, team-based, and community-informed care that addresses critical disparities and promotes long-term well-being in our region.
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) provided financial support for the Behavioral Healthcare through InterProfessional Training (B-HIP) program. The award provided 100% of the total costs and totaled $2.4 million. The contents are those of the author. They may not reflect the policies of HRSA, HHS, or the U.S. Government.
