Who is this program for?

This program is for those currently working in a Tennessee school system and wanting to earn a teaching license without leaving their job or paycheck.

What you'll earn:

• This is a licensure-only program, so when you finish, you'll hold a Tennessee Teaching License.
• This program does not lead to a Master's degree.
  • If you decide to pursue your Master's later, your three Core Content Modules can be applied toward Graduate Credit if you return within 5 years of completing the program.

Two Paths to Licensure

Program Structure

Coursework is mastery-based, mapped to the InTASC standards for highly effective, day-one-ready teachers, and organized into six modules:

• 3 Core Content Modules: (1) Foundations of Instructional Planning and Professional Practice, (2) Teaching in Action: Instructional Strategies and Pedagogical Practice, (3) Advanced Assessment and Interventions in Exceptional Education
• 1 Literacy Module (specific to your licensure area)
• 1 Licensure Area Content Module
• 1 Clinical Practice Module - runs August through May, and may overlap with your content modules

Move through your content modules at your own pace (the only fixed timeline is Clinical Practice). Structured advising, mentoring, and checkpoints support you the whole way.
