About our Community

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is home to 25 fraternities and sororities, with over 1400 active members.

Three councils serve as the governing and advocacy bodies for these organizations.

Learning Outcomes

Students engaged and committed to Fraternity and Sorority Life at UTC will gain the following competencies and abilities:

  1. Identify and implement personal and organizational strategies that promote academic achievement and lifelong learning.
  2. Define personal and organizational values while engaging in decision-making and behaviors that support the application of those values.
  3. Develop the leadership skills necessary to establish meaningful relationships that lead to collective action and positive change.
  4. Clarify the role of civic engagement and social justice as it applies to the obligations of fraternal membership.
