2024 Homecoming Court
Students at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga are invited to apply for the 2024 Homecoming Court. The Homecoming Court is designed to represent the best of the best student leaders at the institution. Members of the Court should represent the values and mission of the institution. Interested individuals should have demonstrated academic excellence, on and off-campus involvement, and involvement in the local Chattanooga community.
Eligibility and Qualifications

Good Academic & Conduct Standing

Overall Cumulative GPA of 2.70
-
Minimum of senior status (completed 90 credit hours - institution and/or transfer)

Demonstrated leadership experience
Applications Open: Tuesday, September 3 at 9 a.m.
Applications Close: Sunday, September 22nd at 11:59 p.m.
2 Recommendation Forms Due: Tuesday, September 24th at 12 p.m. (noon)

Application Review
Homecoming Court Applications must be submitted in their entirety by the deadlines outlined above to be considered by the Homecoming Court Interview Committee. Only completed applications from eligible applicants will be reviewed by the Interview Committee.
Recommendation Forms
During the application form, each applicant will need to provide the name and contact information for 2 references. Both references must be current UTC faculty/staff or community members/leaders/employers. References from fellow students will NOT be accepted.These references should be able to speak on the applicant's ability to represent a diverse group of students as well as provide examples of the applicant's demonstrated leadership ability on and off campus. Please ask these individuals to serve as a reference before submitting their information in this application.
References identified by the applicant will receive a link to fill out the recommendation form. Recommendation forms are due by Tuesday, September 24th at 12 p.m. (noon). A student's application for Homecoming Court will not be complete without both completed recommendation forms.
Interviews
After the application review, the top 10 candidates for Homecoming King and top 10 candidates for Homecoming Queen will receive an invitation for a virtual interview. Interviews will be held on Monday, September 30th - Friday, October 4th. The top 10 for each category will be determined by their application scores.
Homecoming Court Announcement
After the interviews have been completed, the top 5 candidates for Homecoming King and top 5 candidates for Homecoming Queen will be selected for the Homecoming Court which will be announced during Homecoming Kickoff on Monday, October 21st at 5:30pm on Chamberlain Field. The top 5 candidates for each category will be determined by the combined scores of their application and interview.
Voting
After the announcement of the Homecoming Court, the UTC student body will have the opportunity to vote for their 2024 UTC Homecoming King & Queen. Voting will be available starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 and will close on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 3 p.m. via MocSync.
Campaigning
Students selected for Homecoming Court will be required to sign a notice of agreement regarding campaign rules. Candidates may be subject to disqualification if they do not abide by the identified campaign rules.
Homecoming King/Queen Announcement
The announcement of Homecoming King and Queen will take place at halftime of the Homecoming game vs. VMI on Saturday, October 26th. Kickoff will take place at 4:00pm.
Scoring Breakdown
The following chart outlines the score percentages for each individual part of the process that will count towards their overall score. The candidates’ application score will determine if they are invited to an interview, and the accumulation of the applicant's application and interview score will determine if they are selected to be a member of the court. The overall candidate score is an accumulation of the application score, interview score, and voting score. The overall score is used to determine the Homecoming King and Queen. The scoring committee for Homecoming King and Queen will be made up of selected active UTC Faculty and Staff Members.
