Mocs Recovery Program
Collegiate Recovery Program at UT-Chattanooga
Mission
The UT-Chattanooga Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) provides a recovery-minded community in which UTC students in all phases of recovery, can pursue their personal, professional, and academic goals for the purpose of enhancing personal wellness and contributions to the global community. CRP staff collaborate with UTC professionals to support a continuum of care model (prevention, treatment, and recovery) for substance use disorders.
Vision
The vision of the CRP at UTC is to be a model recovery-minded community that engages and encourages UTC students in their pursuit of sustained recovery and an enriched college experience. In addition to aiding in recovery, the CRP at UTC aims to add value to the academic, social, and professional aspects of the lives of its members.
Our Approach
1. Self-Guided
Mocs Recovery believes that recovery is individualized and self-guided. We acknowledge that one size does not fit all and that recovery is a personalized journey. Our intent is to support our members to help them thrive in all aspects of their student life.
2. Multiple Pathways
It is encouraged that each member identifies the strategy most advantageous to their success and evolution as a student at UTC. We support all pathways of recovery.
3. Holistic
Mocs Recovery believes that recovery support services work best when they focus on the whole person. Therefore, we coordinate with the Center for Wellbeing and provide access to mindful practices, emotional support, informational support, and referrals to a myriad of community-based organizations and groups.
