The Department of Chemistry and Physics is dedicated to student success in these challenging disciplines. Chemistry and physics courses provide excellent preparation for professional health related fields such as medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. Our students go on to graduate school or rewarding careers in teaching or industry.
New: for summer 2025 we're offering a Quantum Summer Camp for high school students. Running from May 27 through May 30, 2025, on the campus of UTC, students will learn Quantum Computing and get hands-on experience at UTC's Quantum Node. Learn more and apply today.
Now we offer Residential Learning Communities! As a physics or chemistry major, you have two to choose from: MEDIC or Mocs in STEM. These living, learning programs feature shared courses in the discipline and co-curricular activities to build common experiences with your classmates and explore the greater Chattanooga area.
