Nonprofit Management Concentration

The nonprofit management concentration is one of three options for how MPA students may make the most of their elective coursework. (The other two options are the local government management concentration and the generalist MPA option, in which students select electives from MPA courses and, with permission, courses from other departments.)
MPA students may earn a concentration in Nonprofit Management by completing four courses (12 credit hours) as listed below to fulfill the elective requirement for the degree. Three courses are required:
- Nonprofit Management Fundamentals
- Ethical and Legal Aspects of Nonprofit Management
- Nonprofit Resource Development
Students select one of the following courses:
- Community Economic Development
- Volunteer Management
- Strategic Planning in Nonprofit Organizations
- International Nongovernmental Organizations
- Government and Nonprofits
Course descriptions are available in the graduate catalog. Please note that the website may include minor changes to the curriculum that are not yet reflected in the catalog.
