Local Government Management Concentration
The local government management concentration is one of three options for how MPA students may make the most of their elective coursework. (The other two options are the nonprofit management concentration and the generalist MPA option, in which students select electives from MPA courses and, with permission, courses from other departments.)
MPA students may earn a concentration in Local Government Management by completing four courses (12 credit hours) as listed below to fulfill the elective requirement for the degree. Three courses are required:
- Local Government Management Fundamentals
- Anatomy of the City
- Community Economic Development
Students select one of the following courses:
- Administrative Law
- Intergovernmental Relations
- Government, Politics, and Policy in Metropolitan Areas
- Public Sector Information Management
- Government and Nonprofits
