Environmental Studies Program Outcomes and Requirements

Students graduating with a BA in Environmental Studies at UTC should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the human and social dimensions of contemporary environmental issues;
- Demonstrate basic ecological literacy from the standpoint of the natural sciences with regard to contemporary environmental problems;
- Articulate the value and import of the natural world from various cultural, ethical, and historical perspectives;
- Evaluate, integrate, and communicate information related to Environmental Studies using multiple disciplinary perspectives and methods to multiple audiences;
- Apply core concepts of Environmental Studies to address problems at various levels (local, regional, global).

- 18 hours distributed among approved Environmental Studies electives in Natural Sciences, Social and Health Sciences, and Humanities, with at least one course from each category
