Workshop Overview
The best workshops are collaborative! Please join us as we discover and share strategies to engage students and build their skills in critical thinking, close-reading, and college-level writing. This workshop will explore the goals, framework, and exam for AP English Language and Composition with a practical approach to understanding the course, planning the course, teaching the course, assessing student progress, and becoming members of the AP community.
Please note: This workshop is designed for teachers who have taught AP English Language and Composition for at least three years. Teachers who might be otherwise experienced but are new to AP Lang. should register for the New Teachers workshop.

This workshop will provide you with the opportunity to:
- Enrich your instruction as you align with the goals of the course.
- Broaden your approach to teaching the skills and knowledge the exam assesses.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design targeted lessons, projects, and units.
- Draft/revise your syllabus to meet the curricular requirements for the course.
- Continue making equitable access a guiding principle in designing instruction.
How You Will Benefit
- Learn ready-to-use strategies to engage students and accelerate their progress in close reading and academic writing.
- Explore course goals, course framework, and AP Classroom to maximize pass rate.

How Online Workshops Will Work
No one wants to sit and watch a 32-hour long webinar, so we are working closely with our consultants to develop a modified course schedule that allows you greater flexibility, but still gives you the knowledge and skills you need.
Live-online instruction will be conducted through Zoom while asynchronous learning assignments will be managed through Canvas, the University’s learning management system (LMS).
Once you register, we will provide you with more details on how to access the platforms as well as your materials.
