"Everyone was impressed by their knowledge, skill, professionalism and enthusiasm. Please let them know how appreciative we are of their service and time. We look forward to many more partnerships in the future as we work toward increasing vaccination rates for all vaccine-preventable illnesses in Hamilton County.” Thanks to Professor Naples and our 5th level students!

Nursing student Maggie Shaw is the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year. Shaw led her team to six shutouts and was named the league’s Player of the Week after blanking The Citadel and Mercer.
“We are extremely proud of Maggie," said Chris Smith, Director of the School of Nursing. "Being a full-time college athlete and student in our program takes tremendous dedication and drive to be successful in both areas. Maggie carries a full load along with clinical rotations in both psych-mental health and the medical-surgical areas, where she is working with hospitalized patients with chronic illnesses. This is a tough program without extracurricular involvement. Maggie is a great example of a student who is managing these demands on her time extremely well.”

School of Nursing students, faculty, and even alumni have been generously volunteering for both the UTC campus vaccination site and off-campus where Dr. Kristina Wick has been leading an effort to take the vaccine to older adults. See a sample of photos on our Flickr album.
