The 2018 NightinGala was a grand success! See the full photo album. Although the event is complete, you can still contribute by becoming a member of the 1973 Society.

An FNP class was the lucky recipient of by a visit by Dean and Mary Jane Heavener, who displayed antique "hospital dolls" used for training nurses and doctors. The "Mrs. Chase" mannequin, one of the very first dolls ever created specifically for medical simulation, was crafted in 1914. Click on arrow to advance photos.

Professors Joanie Jackson and Amber Roache presented on their work combating health disparities in urban and rural areas through the CANDL project at the Sigma Theta Tau Region 8 Conference in Mobile, Alabama. Sigma is The Honor Society of Nursing. Dr. William Crowe also attended.

Congratulations to Dr. Nancy Stevens, DNP ’12, MSN FNP ‘07 for receiving the Frank L Cole Nurse Practitioner Award from the Emergency Nurses Association. Dr. Stevens’ portrait along with this Lifetime Achievement award are now prominently displayed in the ENA Hall of Fame. The award recognizes a clinical expert who delivers compassionate, competent care in an emergency care setting.

Alumna Kat Brewer is appearing on the DYI Network! Kat and her boyfriend built a 335-square-foot tiny home, and use it in their travels across the country. Kat is a travel nurse.

DNP student Amy Jo Perry has been selected for the prestigious Justin Micalizzi scholarship for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement National Forum. Congratulations, Amy Jo!

DNP senior students, Sheana Fox and Danielle Vandergriff, were chosen to attend the 11th National Doctors of Nursing Practice Conference in Palm Springs, California. They attended presentations in education, networking, dissemination and also served as volunteers for the conference.

DNP faculty member Bernadette DePrez has been selected as a Nursing Alumnus of the Year by Southern Adventist University.

Three cheers for DNP Student Joy Lewis, who has been elected to the position of Director of Region 4 Kentucky Nurses Association/American Nurses Association.

Congratulations to DNP student Colleen Moss, who has received the Ingrid Josefin Ridky Academic Scholarship from the Academy of Neonatal Nurses!

Congratulations to two outstanding faculty who have received grants from the the Health Resources and Services Administration! Dr. Linda Hill (left) has received $55,989 for her Nurse Anesthesia Traineeship grant. Dr. Amber Roache (right) has been awarded $836,875 to continue the work of the CANDL (Clinical-Academic Network for Developing Leaders) grant.
