Digital Infrastructure Research
About
We build the backbone that powers Chattanooga’s smart-city ecosystem—real-time, resilient pipelines that ingest billions of data points each day from cameras, lidars, RSUs, thermal sensors, and edge devices. Our infrastructure continuously monitors sensor health, triggers proactive alerts, and delivers instant or historical data access through scalable APIs and SDKs. The result: a living, self-aware digital foundation built for intelligent transportation and next-generation urban research.

Testbed as a Service (TaaS)
At CUIP, our data infrastructure connects roadside sensors, edge computing, and high-speed fiber backhaul to distributed storage and processing systems in both on-prem and cloud environments. We call the whole pipeline as “Testbed as a Service (TaaS)”. This architecture enables:
- Low-latency decision making at the edge for real-time traffic management.
- Scalable data ingestion of billions of daily events across sensors and vehicles.
- Seamless integration of raw and processed data for researchers, city planners, and industry partners.
- Open access pathways through SDKs, REST APIs, and streaming services for both live and historical datasets.
Together, this system transforms raw city data into actionable insights, supporting research in mobility, safety, environmental monitoring, and digital twins.
