Poverty Simulation Title

Participants - 6:15 PM to 9:30 PM
6:15 - 6:30 PM Registration
6:40 - 8:30 PM Poverty Simulation
8:30 - 8:40 PM Break
8:40 - 9:30 PM Debrief

UTC Student participants can arrive early (5:15 PM – 6:00 PM) to receive a voucher for a meal in the UC food court. Vouchers will be distributed at the registration table in front of the Tennessee Room.

Volunteers - 5:15 PM to 9:30 PM
5:15 - 5:30 PM Volunteer check-in and get acquainted with your role
5:30 - 6:15 PM Volunteer Orientation & Buffet Dinner
6:15 - 6:30 PM Break
6:40 - 8:30 PM Poverty Simulation
8:30 - 8:40 PM Break
8:40 - 9:30 PM Debrief

Dinner will be provided for all those in volunteer roles.

Could You Survive a Month Living in Poverty?

  • Participants: We need 40 to 80 participants who will act as family members living in poverty.
     
  • Volunteers: we need at least 22 volunteers who will act as community resource partners.

The Community Action Poverty Simulation was purchased by UTC SON through a  federally funded HRSA grant program as a licensed agreement for private use from Missouri Community Action Network, a Missouri nonprofit corporation. See www.povertysimulation.net.
