EORO Purpose

Guided by a close partnership with Hamilton County Schools, provides scholarships to teacher-candidates majoring in specific high need areas; 6-12 or 6-10 Math, 6-12 Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Special Education, 6-12 English Language Arts, Elementary Education K-5/K-12 ESL, and Music Education K-12, and commit our scholars to the educational disposition of diversity. EORO offers individualized mentorship, monthly professional development seminars, targeted support in preparation for PRAXIS examinations, edTPA completion, academic challenges, and other requirements of UTC’s Teacher Education Program. Additionally, Hamilton County Schools’ Director of Recruitment and Licensure will work directly with EORO staff to recruit EORO graduates for teaching positions in the specific high need areas.
