Creative Dance

3-10 years old

Creative dance allows children to engage in proprioceptive sensing to explore their body moving in space with time, effort and shape, to discover, to create and to share their ideas with others through movement.  Creative dance units can facilitate learning of language through its own tools as a communication process. 

  • Units are 6 to 10 weeks, classes range from 30-60 minutes depending on age    
  • $100 per hour*

Dance and the Camera

Grades 6-8, 9-12, Higher Ed

How can the camera be a tool for choreography? This workshop looks at historical works and ideas, introduces participants to some basic tools of the trade, and develops a group film composition.

  • 4 to 6 class residency sessions with 1 hour per class    
  • $100 per hour*

Ballet Basic, Intermediate

Grades 3-12

Explore the technical genre of dance through a Vaganova style of ballet blended with Bartenieff Principles of Movement. Classes build skills in strength, coordination, sequencing, musicality, flexibility, and composition with attention to spatial intention, effort motivation, breath, and core support and dynamic alignment. 

Class length and frequency based on needs of students and program    

$100 per hour*

Modern Dance, Beginning, Intermediate and Advance

Grades 3-12

Learn the movements concepts of modern dance through a blend of the Laban framework and Bartenieff’s principles of movement. Classes build skills in strength, coordination, sequencing, musicality, flexibility, and composition with attention to spatial intention, effort motivation, breath, and core support and dynamic alignment. 

  • Class length and frequency based on needs of students and program    
  • $100 per hour*

*Plus materials, mileage/airfare, per diem, lodging as applicable
