Alignment with UTC Strategic Plan
The Arts-Based Collaborative aligns with the UTC strategic plan through building bridges beyond the classroom in and through arts. To learn more about the UTC strategic plan, please click here.
Goal 1: Transform lives through meaningful learning experiences.
Arts-Based Collaborative recently became an affiliate of the national Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts. Through our affiliate, UTC-Wolf Trap, highly trained teaching artists facilitate multi-session residencies in early childhood classrooms. During each residency, a UTC-Wolf Trap Teaching Artist mentors the classroom teacher on supporting their students' school readiness, literacy, and social emotional learning needs in and through the arts.
Goal 2: Inspire, nurture and empower scholarship, creativity, discovery, innovation, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
Arts-Based Collaborative empowers the campus and surrounding community to discover how an artistic discipline can transform a variety of fields and disciplines. Arts-Based Collaborative programs have a cross-sector impact in education and healthcare that open doors for students to engage in interdisciplinary research and creative endeavors.
Goal 3: Ensure stewardship of resources through strategic alignment investments.
Arts-Based Collaborative programs supports the area's creative community by cultivating a roster of teaching artists to facilitate arts integration residencies and professional development programs across the tri-state, Chattanooga region.
Goal 4: Embrace diversity and inclusion as a path to excellence and societal change.
We collaborate with artists and clinicians from diverse backgrounds and experiences to develop and implement a culturally responsive and place-based curriculum rooted in arts-based practice.
