Dr. Hemant Jain is W. Max Finley Chair in Business, Free Enterprise and Capitalism, in College of Business at University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Before this he was Professor of Information Technology Management at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.  He also served as interim director of Biomedical and Health Informatics Research Institute a multidisciplinary research Institute. 

Dr. Jain has published more than 55 articles in leading journals including Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Journal of MIS, IEEE Transactions on Systems Man and Cybernetics, Naval Research Quarterly, Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, Communications of ACM, and Information & Management. Additionally, he has published over 60 papers in referred conference proceedings. Currently Dr. Jain is on the advising board of IEEE Transactions on Services Computing.  He served as Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Services Computing and as Associate Editor of Journal of AIS.  Additionally, he serves on the editorial board of a number of other highly regarded Journals.  He is on the board and member of Steering Committee of IEEE Technical Committee on Services Computing and is a member of Service, Systems and Organizations Technical Committee of the IEEE SMC Society. Recently he served as Program Chair, of IEEE 5th International Conference on Mobile Services. He served as Co-General Chair of IEEE Big Data congress 2015 and Program Co-Chair of IEEE 3rd International Congress on Big Data.  He served as Program co-chair of DESRIST 2011.

He received his Ph. D. in information system from Lehigh University, a Master of Technology form Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India and Bachelor of Engineering from University of Indore, India.
