Vehicle Immobilization

UTC Parking Services is authorized to immobilize vehicles with $60 or more in outstanding parking citations.

If your vehicle is immobilized, you will have to pay the full account balance, plus a $50 immobilization fee, before the immobilization device is removed from your vehicle. Vehicle immobilization is in accordance with TN APA 1720-2-3.

Purpose

Vehicle immobilization is a tool that is used to discourage repeat parking violations at UTC.

This facilitates better management of available parking spaces, and promotes a safer, more consistent parking environment.

Vehicle immobilization grabs the attention of repeat violators and is designed to discourage the future violation of UTC parking regulations.

It benefits students by discouraging the accumulation of unpaid parking citations and financial holds, which prevent students from registering for classes, getting transcripts or graduating.
