Career Counseling

Programming and Presentations
We provide career programming and presentations for a variety of campus partners, departments, classes, and student organizations. A few presentations we've given in the past include:

- Resume building and reviews
- Transferable skills
- Networking
- and more!
If you'd like to request a program for your department, class, or student organization, please fill out our programming interest form or email us at [email protected].
Resume and Professional Document Critique
Need a review of your resume and other professional documents? Email your document(s) to [email protected] to be reviewed for formatting and content. When submitting your document to us via email, please include the following information:
- What specific job or career are you looking for? This information is helpful so we can tailor our feedback to be relevant to your goals.
- Are you needing to schedule an appointment to go over the review? If so, what are some of your available times throughout the week and would you prefer in-person or virtual? If you prefer, we can also just send your resume back to you with notes.
- If this is for a class, who is your professor and what are the assignment details? We work with multiple classes, and each professor has different requirements.
You may seek help for a general resume or provide a job description to receive more specific feedback based on that position. Documents are reviewed in the order they are received. It may take longer to receive feedback during peak times, such as before career fairs and around class assignment due dates.

Mock Interviews
Need help preparing for an interview? Schedule an individual appointment through Handshake or email [email protected] for assistance. Please include the following information:
- What specific job or career are you looking for? This information is helpful so we can tailor our interview questions.
- What are some of your available times throughout the week and would you prefer in-person or virtual?
- If this is for an assignment - who is your professor and when is the assignment due?
Professional Headshots
We are happy to offer free professional headshots to UTC students and alumni. Appointments can be scheduled through Handshake.
Sessions will last up to 30 minutes, and photos will be emailed to you within 10 business days.

Career Closet
Current students can make an appointment (once per semester) to shop the Career Closet for one free gently used professional outfit for an upcoming interview, career fair, or internship. Students can make this appointment through Handshake. Walk-in appointments are not available.
Please note that the inventory fluctua be available. This service is only possible through generous donations from the university community and partners. If interested in donating your clean and gently used professional attire, feel free to drop them off at our office during our business hours.
