Preferred Name Instructions

Within the UTC software systems students can enter their preferred (chosen) name to ensure that they are not dead-named on class rolls, within Banner, Canvas, email, and various other systems. Instructions can be found on MyMocsNet. Please make sure to follow all instructions (SSB Banner and UTC Directory for students and also IRIS instructions for employees).This is not foolproof and sometimes the system doesn’t update immediately.

If you have updated your information with all processes and you notice that certain systems are not correct after a week, please contact Sarah Daniels at [email protected] or call 423-425-1416.

Housing Accommodations

Students who wish to be assigned LGBTQ+ friendly housing can contact Sarah Daniels at [email protected] or 423-425-1416. We will work with housing and other campus resources to provide appropriate placement.

MocsID

If you would like the correct name on your MocsID, please contact Sarah Daniels at [email protected] or call 423-425-1416. We will work with the MocsID office to get you a new ID with the correct name at no cost to you.

All gender restrooms are available throughout campus. Below is a table listing those that are currently accessible and operational. As construction takes place across campus, new restrooms will be coming online and will be added as the buildings open. You can find the all gender restrooms on the interactive campus map.
