-
The DRC Testing Center is here to assist with implementing accommodations related to testing.
-
The DRC Testing Center is located in the University Center Room 317.
-
Students may request testing accommodations through Accommodate directly. Please submit the testing room request at least three days in advance.
-
The exams are expected to be proctored on the same time and day that the exam would be in the class.
-
During midterms or finals, please request to reserve a room two weeks in advance to allow ample time for planning purposes.
-
Exams can be uploaded to Accommodate and delivered after the exam through email or by hand.
-
Cameras are installed in the testing rooms to monitor academic integrity.
Faculty FAQs
- Do I have to tell you what students are registered for my courses?
No. If a student is approved for exam accommodations and are wanting to take the exam in our space to have access to those accommodations, it is their responsibility to sign up for their exams through their Accommodate profile.
- How do students sign up for exams?
Students may sign up online. The students should have those instructions and be aware of how the sign-up process works, so you should not need to take any action to get them signed up.
- Can I announce in class that DRC exam accommodations are handled in your space?
Sure! The important part of any class announcement is to be vague, as we strive to maintain the anonymity of our DRC student from being singled out or outed to their peers.
- If a student has accommodations, do they have to test with your office for all exams and quizzes?
No, just because a student is approved through our office does not mean they are required to take their exam with us.
- A student in my classes requested to take an exam with you. Now what do I do?
We will just need the exam and instructions from you. There are a couple ways to do this:
1. You can email a word document or PDF of the exam to us at [email protected].
2. You can upload the exam through the Accommodate portal so that we have it in our system.
3. You can drop of copies of the exam to the DRC Testing Center in the University Center, Room 317- What information do you need from me about the exam?
When providing an exam to us, we ask that you include the following information:
- How long will students testing in class be given to complete the exam?
- Are they allowed any materials such as notes, textbook, calculator, etc? If so, please specify.
- Do they need a scantron or bluebook?
- How would you like us to return the exam to you? We can scan it back to your email, we can deliver the exam to a location of your choice and have a faculty or staff member sign to receive it, or you can come by the office and pick it up.
- What is a good contact phone number or email that you will be monitoring during the exam in case we need to reach you?
- When do I need to submit my exam?
It is the DRC Testing Center's preference that we have the exam and instruction at least 24 hours prior to the schedule date and time. However, you are welcome to upload or send over exams as early as you would like!
- How are my students proctored in your space?
We handle proctoring several ways. Firstly, all of our DRC Testing rooms are equiped with cameras that are monitored at all times by the DRC staff. Any unapproved items or suspicious behavior are recorded on the camera system and kept on file through the end of the semester in order to support and uphold academic integrity in our space.
- Does the DRC provide computers for students to test on?
Yes, the DRC does have a limited number of laptops we are able to provide to students on a first come, first serve basis.
