Advisement
Questions about Advising? Start here.
All students must meet with their advisor every semester before course registration. You won’t be able to register for classes without first meeting with your advisor.
Your advisor is more than just a tool for registering for classes. They can help you with questions about degree requirements, academic and student success. They’re people, not machines. Advisors know a thing or two about the college process.
Students, use this site to access general information about advising at UTC. This should be your jumping off point to find details about the advisement process specific to your degree program.
Excellence in Advising Nominations
You have until the Monday after commencement to submit a nomination for Summer/Fall recognition. It’s a brief process and can be a great way to put a smile on a colleague’s face! The categories are as follows:
Primary Role- Recognizes individuals whose primary role at the institution is the direct delivery of advising services to students
Faculty Advisor- Recognizes individuals whose primary responsibility is teaching and spend a portion of their time providing academic advising services to students.
New Advisor- Recognizes individuals who have demonstrated qualities associated with outstanding academic advising of students and who have served as an advisor for a period of up to three (3) years.
