Program of Study, Continuation, Candidacy, and Graduation Requirements
Program of Study - Complete Form in the First Semester
Degree seeking students must complete and file a Program of Study form (GS #101) by the end of their first semester. Students must complete the candidacy form in order to continue toward their degree. Instructions are available. Here is a sample form for our program.
Continuance
Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA in all graduate courses. Failing to meet this this standard, can result in academic probation or dismissal. Receiving a third C or below in graduate class will be cause for immediate program dismissal.
Candidacy and Graduation
Submit application one semester before the intended graduation semester.
For example, for a spring graduation date, apply in fall. Instructions are available. Consult the Academic Calendar for specific dates. Failure to meet this deadline may delay your graduation.
In order to be eligible for admission to candidacy and graduation, students must have:

a cumulative 3.0 GPA

completed all required courses (CRMJ 5000, 5010, 5020, and 5030)

a C or higher in all courses
- complete your degree within 6 years of starting the degree (beginning with the first course taken.) It may be possible to petition this time limit in extraordinary circumstances.
