Study Abroad Scholarship 2019-2020
A scholarship created to promote the academic, professional and personal advancement of UTC students who major in Humanities (International Studies & Liberal Arts tracks) by helping to defray the costs of study abroad. Three scholarships will be given with a prize of $1,000 each.
Who is eligible?
All majors in Humanities (International Studies & Liberal Arts tracks) with study abroad plans of at least 4 weeks that will result in credits that count towards the major. Preference will be given to students who have never been enrolled in a study abroad program.
How can I apply?
Write an essay of 300 words explaining why you would like to study abroad as well as the personal benefits of the program you have chosen. Put an emphasis on how this experience will contribute to your academic training. Students should turn in two hard copies of their essay to Evelyn Murray in Brock 208. On both copies, include the name of the scholarship to which you are applying. On one copy only, include your name and student ID.
When is the deadline?
January 15th, 2020 at 12:00 pm.
What will be the criteria for eligibility?
Faculty members from the Program in Humanities select the winners of these scholarships. Alongside the style and content of the essays, other criteria may be considered: GPA, the quality of the selected program, the completion of your major requirements, and financial need.
