Department of Physics Scholarships
The Department of Physics is fortunate to receive funds from donors and alumni. We invite majors to apply for the various scholarships and awards each year. Please visit the links below to learn about specific funds available in each program.
Physics Scholarships and Awards
These awards and scholarships are granted to current Physics majors at the annual Spring Awards Ceremony in April. Applications are typically available in February.
Westbrook Scholarships
These scholarships will be presented to as many as seven entering freshmen majoring in Chemistry or Physics. The awards are renewable over a four-year period and can be added to other University scholarships and the Tennessee Lottery scholarship. The deadline for submission is typically mid February.
Marlowe Transfer Scholarship
An award of $1,800 (over 2 years) will be presented to one entering transfer student each Fall majoring in Physics. This award is only available to first-time undergraduate students. Once awarded this scholarship is automatically renewed for one year provided the student meets specific academic requirements. The deadline is July 10 for the coming Fall term.
